hey...
i know its a long time since i posted. haha. just cant seem to think of things to blog about. nw with school over theres hardly anything to blog about. hahaha.
well. YOUTH CAMP! let the PASSION ARISE! haha. was quite fun and enjoyable being the grp leader. haha. i just love tht sense of authority. and besides that also got to lead devotions and reallly cuz myself to be closer to god. haha.
anyway we played the game of life. where they give u a slip of paper which tells u what kind of education level u have, what job u hold and how much inheritance u have. then u have to earn more money by the "stock market", upgrading ure education and job or investing in "property". yeah sounds rubbish but WOO HOO im the top earner in the camp with a WHOPPING 8.196 million! hahaha. rubbish. but i "rejected" all the ppl who tried to share the 4 spiritual laws with me. trying to "convert" me into a christian. cuz u also start out with a certain religion. hahaha. so what if i had tht much money in the end im "not" a christian also lose all my money in death. hahaha. yeah. so those filthy rich ppl please to not pay too much attention to ure earthly wealth but instead look for ure riches in HEAVEN! yeah!
so in the youth camp i faced this problem that ive been facing. which ministry to drop? cuz im nw serving in the hokkien ministry, children ministry and youth worship ministry. then i feel tht i need to drop one of these ministries? like last time i kept holding on to all three ministries cuz i kept saying to myself tht i must PERSEVERE! carry on for god's sake! yeah. but during the youth camp even though they talked about persevering, but some of my camp members shared about the importance of learning the right time to give up. like sometimes it isnt always the best thing to hold on to something u dont really enjoy. so i guess i enjoy playing for youth worship ministry, i enjoy seeing the wondrous way the old ppl just worship god in the hokkien ministry. but somehow i do not look forward to children ministry? especially after a meeting where they said tht those of us in the children ministry need to hug the children more and show our love to them kinda thing. then i just thought to myself, huh, im not tht kinda person. so yeah. i guess maybe its the best thing to just quit the children ministry. hope god will grant me his wisdom in this decision. hahaha.
so yeah after the exams i sort of stopped doing my quiet time regularly? cuz during exams i felt tht i was too busy to do quiet time. so after tht i stopped my quiet time for a long time. then after exams i only did my quiet time like 2, 3 times a week? so during the camp i realised the importance of quiet time, of spending quiet time alone with god to hear him speak to us? yeah. so on thursday, i decided to go and start doing my quiet time regularly. then i flipped my devotion book open and then the bible reading for tht day just struck me! like TOTALLY! i just felt like god was like right there shouting to me.
JOHN CHAPTER 15
1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
4. Remain in me, and I will remain in you, NO branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can u bear fruit unless u remain in me.
5. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and i in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
i read this passage and i was like so struck by the repetition of the words "Remain in me, and i will remain in you." it was like so encouraging when i decided to go back to my regular quiet time, then i see such a promise from god. its way cool! its BEYOND cool man. my god totally rocks big time! hahaha.
so yeah today was invited to living sanctuary brethen church by ling jia. haha. thanks for the invite again. was a new experience for me to go to another church. although i have gone to others b4, every new church i go to is a new experience. haha. but it was a good concept for the service. a LOVE LETTER from god. haha. cool. god wrote a love letter to u like 2000+ years before u were born. haha.
recently i also went to a event organised by st james church. invited by joyce. haha. its all about wheres ure destination in life? haha. whether u decide to go to the drugs and violence destination? or the jealousy and hatred destination? or the depressed and suicide destination? haha. we all have a CHOICE. will we decide to go to the wrong destination, or would we decide to go towards a destination called HEAVEN? haha. its ure choice. u decide.
and yeah the speaker said something tht really made me ponder. imagine ure the host of a party. many ppl come to ure house for the party. many ppl eat the food u provide at the party. many people relax and chill out and chat with the other people u invited at the party. and no one bothers to talk to you, no one says thanks, everyone just ignores u???? imagine that. that host is actually our god. we live happily in HIS world. we happily enjoy the luxuries HE has provided for us. we have friends and have relationships with people HE put into our lives. yet most of us decide to ignore him. most of us dont give thanks to him. most of us rather pretend this god does not exist. its saddening, yes it is. and his birthday is coming and most of the ppl at his party dont even care about it??? sad.
yeah anyway its christmas soon, which celebrates the birth of christ. not about some witless old fat git in a red suit and sporting an uncomely white beard, who's name "coincidentally" rearranges to form the word "satan". so lets come all ye faithful and celebrate. haha.
